Loretta Blake, contemporary abstract art work titled Millthorpe Afternoon. Mixed media on canvas, framed.

Orange born Loretta Blake has always enjoyed an interest in art and thirty five years ago she began to paint full-time. Her paintings feature in private collections throughout Australia and overseas.

When Loretta visited the famed galleries of Europe and United Kingdom it cemented her commitment to follow her love of art and she began to paint full-time. This commitment included the continual development under the tutelage of great artists including her highly respected still life tutor, the late David Wilson of the Julian Aston School, Sydney, and the Macquarie Art School in Bathurst.

Flowers, a first love of subject matter, gradually gave way to the exploration of people and landscape, whilst still expressing vibrancy and spontaneity. Loretta’s distinctive use of colour and considerable technical skill showcases her wealth of natural talent.
