Poul Cadovius walnut wall unit. Born in Copenhagen in 1911, Cadovius originally trained as a saddler and upholsterer. He was a colourful and successful designer with a marked influence on the Danish furniture industry and furniture design. Despite being among the first Danish furniture designers to work with plastics, Cadovius is best remembered for his primed wood shelving units known as the Royal Shelving System which was a huge success throughout the 50s, 60s and 70s. On offer is this modular two bay wall unit which is both versatile and functional as it can be arranged in any configuration you like. Featuring interesting basket weave fronts on the two cabinets, four different depth shelves and black hardware. Light wear and surface scratches throughout. Some veneer chipping at the back edges of the cabinets and shelves. Requires assembly directly onto a wall.
