Morgantown Glass was founded in 1899 in the US and by the 1940s was producing bright, colourful modernist glass in new colours and shapes. ‘Décor by Morgantown’ was launched in 1958, from which First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy purchased glassware for the White House’s State dining room. Today, the modernist design and vivid colours of the ‘Décor Line’ items are still valued by consumers and collectors. This pair of candle holders are a beautiful, slightly luminescent, shade of burgundy and bear the original sticker labels of the manufacturer, estimated to be 1960s. Originally purchased from a glass dealer for approx $150.
