Arne Vodder rosewood coffee table with chequerboard parquetry top. Born in Denmark in 1926 Vodder trained as an architect and cabinet maker. He is best known for his furniture designs, which tended to be simple pieces composed of natural materials such as rosewood and teak. Vodder worked with several respected brands throughout his career including Fritz Hanson, France & Søn, Nielaus and Sibast and his furniture featured in notable public spaces such as Jimmy Carter's white House and the UN offices in Geneva. This beautifully restored square rosewood coffee table produced for France & Søn is typical of the craftsmanship of Arne Vodder furniture.
